Really hard day on the Ouse for everyone, but great to catch up with old friends and be out on the bank again
There was a total of forty six anglers on the bank, including some who made the journey from Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Surrey.
The event also received good support from the Polish and Lithuanian angling community, which was good to see considering, the bad angling press Eastern Europeans receive, due to a “minority”
One of which, is a good mate of mine who likes to be known as “Rambo” All the hard work he put in, was worth it as he came second.
The event raised £1,343 for Marie Curie Cancer Care, which is fantastic.
As for the fishing, plenty of jacks were being caught along the stretch, but unfortunately no upper doubles and that elusive twenty. The biggest fish captured was just over 10ib.
There was also a cup for the zander, but unfortunately none were caught on this occasion.
The fishing has been especially hard for the pike and zander this year, but it does happen now and again.
Hopefully the fishing will improve in the coming 2017/18 season.
As for me, I have three more days fishing booked on the rivers and drains, before I hang the rods up for a couple of months.
Will keep you posted on how I get on, and write an overview of how my season was.
