Starting to get back into my evenings, ready for the zander, so fancied a go after some chub in an old child hood haunt.
I started off in small weir pool, then just wandered down the river, just chucking the rod in here and there.I eventually found a known hot spot, which I used to try all the time. Chucked in some free offerings, then eventually the rod rapped a few times then hooped round. After a nice scrap, I landed my first chub of the evening.
I was still getting bites, but kept on missing them, so decided to rest this swim for an hour or so and do some more exploring. It wasn’t very productive, so I moved back to the hot spot and landed this beauty.
Was this Byrons Pool by any chance and where was the Mill Pool that you visited a couple of days later?
