Unfortunetly I didn’t get on the river for the first day of the season, due to work commitments. Very gutted. Anyway made up for it today. A good school friend popped down from Norfolk, and joined me on the 40ft drain. This was his first experience of fishing a fenland drain. When we arrived there was fish fizzing and feeding everywhere, it looked totally undisturbed. We both thought our luck was in.
My friend loved it, but did’nt catch on this occasion. However, I had a few skimmers and a cracking 4ib 10oz tench, which I was very happy to see. Looking forward to my next session, which should’nt be too long now!
